What is a prosthetic tooth?
If you have lost one or more of your teeth, you know how much it affects your oral health, aesthetics and speech. Prostheses give you back what you lost.
In dentistry, dentures are appliances made to help maintain the health of existing tissues while restoring the chewing functions, contribution to speech and aesthetics of lost teeth and tissues.
We can evaluate prostheses in two separate classes as fixed and removable prostheses.
While fixed prostheses are divided into crowns and bridges, they can be named as full metal, metal supported porcelain or full porcelain according to the material used in their production.
Removable prostheses can be named in different ways according to their different properties.
•Full dentures
•Partial dentures
•Immediate (temporary) prostheses
•Overdentures (tooth or implant) prostheses
